NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
This 5 session workshop is ideal for the adult beginning dance student interested in broadening their technique and partnering skills. Students will be guided through basic principles of Contemporary/Modern dance, while also practicing healthy alignment for a moving body. Over the course of the 5 weeks, students will find the joy that comes from learning athletic and fluid choreography. They will also discover much about how their own bodies move, as there will be several opportunities for students to work with partners. By the end of the workshop, students will acquire a basic technical skill level of Contemporary dance that will prepare them for for more continued study. They will learn fundemental skills for partner dancing like weight sharing and contact initiation/improvisation . Finally, they will have a deeper cultural understanding of Contemporary/Modern dance and its vital place as an art form in our world.

Class cards purchased for Zumba can also be used in the W & F 9:30am classes

This will be a Salsa/Mambo “On 2″ performance/choreography workshop that will culminate in 2-4 performances during the last two weeks of the workshop.
Participating in the performances is not mandatory – you are welcome to attend the workshop solely for training purposes.Ava Apple has studied Salsa/Mambo with Eddie Torres, Addie Rodriguez, Joannne Velarde, Bob Dean, Ceci Chevere and many other top instructors. She also has an extensive dance background that includes Hustle, Ballet, Flamenco, Jazz, Swing, & Ballroom.Audrianna has trained with Addie Diaz, Eddie Torres, and the late David Melendez. She also has training in Jazz & Ballet, and is director of “Mambo Elite” dance company.We can’t wait to work with you!!

Yes – The Latin Symbolics are heading in to our 22nd year!
We have several teams at various levels of dance ability and committment.
Our two higher level teams, meet year round & are accepting new members.
The Latin Symbolics (TLS) and The Latin Symbolics II (TLS II) both study and perform several different dances – not just Salsa – we also do Cha Cha Cha, NY Latin Hustle, Bachata and more. In TLS we also do high level lifts and tricks, which we are well known for, so we look for people that are athletic, strong, and willing to work hard!
In TLS II you will start to train & perform lifts, but will not perform “overhead” lifts.
Members of TLS and TLS II take weekly class w/ Ava & Rodolfo for free, and get fantastic discounts on many of the classes taught by other instructors at our studio as well. Plus – you get credit off your monthly dues for any of the weekly classes you take from us and other instructors! Take more classes and your monthly team dues get lower.
The more classes you take – the LESS you pay!
